You can tell a lot about a person from their room.
Judging by my room it’s safe to assume I’m either a compulsive hoarder or the Tasmanian Devil. I’d post a picture but the mere sight of it has had several mothers and cleaning ladies across the country pass out from shock, so I’ll spare you the pain.
I did make one change recently that has helped and inspired me a great deal, however – I picked all the DVDs scattered on the floor and put them all on one shelf.
Yeah, it might not seem like a big deal, but it got me thinking about the kind of movies I enjoy watching and talking about. There are some films people immediately associate with me, but then there are others I have that might surprise you. I wake up and am almost immediately greeted to the sight of fifty or so films ranging from comedy to fantasy to musicals to action to horror to everything else in between.
If there’s some things I enjoy other than movies, it’s reviews about them. It’s great getting a different person’s take on what they think makes a film work and what doesn’t often while getting some great jokes in as well. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time but could never find an interesting way to do it…until the shelf came along.
In the section of the blog titled “What’s On The Shelf”, you’ll find a complete list of every single movie that’s currently on the shelf. Each month, you get the chance to vote for what movie you want to see reviewed (one vote per month) by commenting either on the blog or one of the videos. At the end of the month, the winner is announced, the movie is reviewed, and voting begins again.
As of this intro, there are 73 movies on the list, however the number and names will always be changing, so be sure to keep checking to see what’s new.
And now, let the voting commence.
